SCOTT COUNTY · KENTUCKY
Georgetown realtor for buyers and sellers
Georgetown sits in the path between the county seats to the north and Lexington to the south. Scott County has a working downtown, established streets, and newer sections shaped by growth along I-75 and the Toyota corridor.
Not every Georgetown address is close enough to Lexington. The drive, HOA rules, and the size of the lot change what a house is worth to the person who will live there. I put those on the table before you fall for a kitchen.
Why I work in Georgetown
Buyers often compare a Scott County payment with a smaller place in Harrison or Bourbon County and a higher one in Fayette County. I compare the monthly cost and the daily drive, not just the list price.
Sellers in Georgetown need a price that acknowledges active competition. A hopeful number burns the first wave of showings.
Downtown Georgetown
In-town homes trade on location and condition. Parking, updates, and the age of the systems decide how hard a buyer will negotiate.
Newer sections
A new builder house and a resale a few years old are not the same thing. HOA dues, rental rules, and what is still under warranty belong in the first conversation.
The commute question
If Lexington is the job, drive the route at the hour you would actually drive it. I’d rather lose a house than watch you buy a commute you resent.
